First Flight Safety Workshop for Officers for the year 2017

The First Flight Safety Workshop for Officers for the year 2017 was successfully completed on 25th March 2017 at JC & SC premises SLAF Academy China bay.
 
The workshop was organized by the Command Flight Safety Inspectorate of the SLAF to instill safety culture and safety awareness among officers directly and indirectly involved with Air Operations of SLAF. Thirty three officers from nine Branches (GDP, Tech Eng, E Eng,Ops Air, Admin, Admin Reg, Log, AFC and Admin Vet) who have not undergone a formal flight safety training took part in the workshop which commenced on 20th March 2017. This was the first time that officers from Admin Vet and AFC Branches took part in a Flight Safety Workshop. 

Well qualified Civilian and SLAF personnel imparted knowledge to the participants which included Aircraft Accident Investigation by Gp Capt SDGM Silva , ‘BASH’ by Gp Capt SSB Marambe, ATC by Wg Cdr GGSR Gunawardhane, Fire by Wg Cdr WMA Kumarasiri, Safety Program Management by Wg Cdr SR Jayaratne, Material Factor and Human Factor by Sqn Ldr S Siriwardhane, Aviation Physiology by Sqn Ldr RS Jayathilake, Aviation Psychology by Fg Off PAL Rajapakse and CRM by Capt GA Fernando (Head of Operations Section, CAASL).

Certificates for the course participants were presented by Actg Command Flight Safety Officer   Gp Capt SSB Marambe.
