The Passing out Parade of the 4th Air Wing School Cadets (Girls) was held on 27th March2014 at Sri Lanka Air Force Combat Training School Diyatalawa. Major General HMHA Herath, the Director of the National Cadet Corps, took the salute of the Parade as the Chief.

The Annual Assessment Camp was conducted under the patronage of the School Commanding Officer Group Captain WWPD Fernando.

Overall proceedings of the cadets’ assessments were carried out under the direction of Brevet Colonel KPP Chandralatha who was appointed as the Commanding Officer of the Cadet Camp by the National Cadet Corp.

Starting a fresh chapter in the history of the cadet corps, a spectacular parade was carried out under the command of the Air Wing Cadet Under-Officer Kumari WDD from Nalanda Central College, Minuwangoda, who received kudos for her performance by all those who witnessed the parade at the Bentley Parade Grounds. Parade proceedings, a colourful Band display, a Drill Display were organized by the Officer Commanding Training, Wing Commander GPNC Piyasena together with Officers and the Instructors of the School as per the directives given by the School Commanding Officer.

Six hundred and eighty two (682) school Air Wing Cadets from twenty seven (27) schools took part in the competition for the fourth time from various parts of the country. The cadets were assessed on Director’s Examination, Confidence Test, Squadron Drill, Firing, Billet Inspection, Physical Efficiency Test and on Presentation Skills.

Addressing the gathering the Director of National Cadet Corps stressed that making leaders of our younger generation is a task of the highest importance because it would be in the national interest to have resourceful and dynamic youngsters to take on the challenges of the future.

The Air Force Commander’s Trophy was won by Henegama Central College. The second and third places were secured by Poramadulla Central College and Pinnawala National School respectively.
