A Batch of Officers Joined the Officer Core
Eleven Officers comprising of Four flight lieutenants and Seven flying officers were commissioned on 7th August 2014 in order to extend their valuable service to Motherland after completion of two (02) month No.64 Direct Entry Student Officers Training Programme at the Combat Training School of Sri Lanka Air Force Diyatalawa.

The Closing Address was taken place under the patronage of the School Commanding Officer Group Captain Peterson Fernando.

The Student Officers along with Plt Off EMW Ambanpola ( already Commissioned ) who are appeared on photographs have been taught it all, having endured the extreme pressure and hardships of the toughening process irrespective of gender. To achieve the aim of the course they have been trained in Drill, Weapon Training, Field Craft, Tactics, Map Reading, Air Force Law, Air Force Organization and its Administration. They have also been given the required knowledge on Field First-Aid and Human Rights as well.
 
This batch of trainees from Engineering and Medical branches had been at CTS Diyatalawa for nearly four (04) weeks following their Basic Ground Combat training which was quite hard for them and a Basic Administrative Phase for four (04) weeks as well.

Conversion of the trainees into military service personnel was shouldered by Chief Instructor Cadet Training Squadron Leader Mangala Seneviratne and Officer Commanding Training Wing Commander Nilantha Piyasena under the guidance  of the Commanding Officer.
