Progress of No 58 Junior Commanders Course

Triathlon of No. 58 JC&SC

The triathlon of the No. 58 Junior Command and Staff Course which is a part of the Sports programme of the course was held on 15th November 2018 at the Academy premises of Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay.

The USAF Officer, Major Harrison Cunningham won the first place in the race.




BANGLADESH COUNTRY PRESENTATION OF NO. 58 JC&SC


The Country presentation of Bangladesh Student, Squadron Leader Abu Md Wazahat of No. 58 Junior Command and Staff Course was held on 22nd October 2018 at the Auditorium of the Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay.

PAKISTAN COUNTRY PRESENTATION OF NO. 58 JC&SC

The Country presentation of Pakistani Student, Squadron Leader Wasim Shajid of No. 58 Junior Command and Staff Course was held on 04th October 2018 at the Auditorium of the Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay.

INDIAN COUNTRY PRESENTATION OF NO. 58 JC&SC


The Country presentation of Indian Student, Squadron Leader Satyam Bharti of No. 58 Junior Command and Staff Course was held on 03rd October 2018 at the Auditorium of the Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay.

NEPAL COUNTRY PRESENTATION OF NO. 58 JC&SC


The Country presentation of Nepali Student, Major Mohit Gaurav Paudel of No. 58 Junior Command and Staff Course was held on 13th September 2018 at the Auditorium of the Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay.

The overall aim of this presentation is to avail the opportunity for the Students Officers to present about their motherland in front of an audience representing different countries.



THE WARTIME APPLICATION MODULE

The Wartime Application module was conducted on 15 October 2018 for the Student Officers of No 58 JC&S Course.

The Wartime Application Module is designed to educate the Student Officers on Air Power Application as per the taxonomy and contribution of SLAF towards the successful completion of ‘North and East Humanitarian Operations’. The lectures were conducted in the form of interactive sessions to give the opportunity to share the experiences. A separate central discussion was held at the end of the lectures for the students to clarify their doubts with the participation of all specialist Officers who conducted the lectures during the day.

 


THE AIR POWER MODULE COMPLETED SUCCESSFULLY

The Air Power module was successfully completed with the exercise “Neighbourland” on 13 October 2018. Lectures and syndicate discussions were conducted on Air power and formal appreciation writing prior to the exercise from 01 October 2018.

During the exercise Student Officers in 4 Sub Syndicates got the opportunity to write appreciations on a conflict between two countries in a fictitious setting.  The Student Officers were also given the chance to discuss and defend their Air Plans in a common forum with the participation of all 4 Sub Syndicates members on the last day of the exercise.
 
The overall aim was achieved as the Student Officers effectively planned and briefed the appreciations and air operation plans with the guidance and supervision of the Directing Staff.

On the following day Student Officers completed the writing of an Operations Order individually taking into consideration the given outline plan (a comprehensive plan was given to students based on their final submissions of the exercise).

 



Practice Dining Night of the No.58 Junior Command and Staff Course

As a part of the Junior Command and Staff Course, the “Practice Dining Night” of the No. 58 Junior Command and Staff Course was conducted on 26 September 18 at Officers’ Mess SLAF Academy China Bay with the participation of 31 student Officers including 5 Foreign Officers and Directing/ Permanent Staff and the Commanding Officer.

The function was conducted as per the guidelines on conduct of a Dinning Night with the presence of the Programme Band in order to convey correct understanding to the Student Officers on the procedure of formal dining.



Course Picnic Of The No 58 JCC
The ‘Course Picnic’ of the No 58 Junior Commanders Course was conducted at the Navy Golf Resort, Sandy Bay in Trincomalee on 09 September 2018. The course picnic gives the Student Officers and Directing Staff the opportunity for interaction, leisure and entertainment. 

A committee including a Sponsor DS and Student Officers were nominated to organize the event and to forward a proposal for the event. This gave the exposure for the Student Officers to find suitable locations, select menus and other requirements according to their budget and to plan different entertainment/ team building activities during the picnic.



Sri Lankan Country Presentation of No. 58 JCC
The Country presentation of Sri Lankan Student Officers of No. 58 Junior Commanders Course was held on 07 September 2018 at the Auditorium of Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay.

The overall aim of this presentation is to provide the opportunity for the Students Officers to present about their motherland in front of an audience representing different countries.


Mock conference of No. 58 JCC
The exercise Mock Conference of No. 58 Junior Commanders Course, a part of the Administration Module was held on 30th August 2018 at the Old Auditorium of the Junior Command and Staff College, Sri Lanka Air Force Academy, China Bay.

This exercise will help to students to get the exposure of a conference with the attendance of relevant appointments holders of the Station. After the conference, the Student Officers wrote the minutes of the conference as an assessed exercise of the Module.
