A delegation from the Nigerian NDC visits Air Force Headquarters

A 20-member delegation from the Nigerian National Defence College comprised of senior Officers from the Nigerian Army, Navy and the Air Force and three civilian students, who are currently on their Geo-strategic Study Tour to Sri Lanka, paid a visit to the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters yesterday 02 May 2012. The delegation was headed by Commodore Adetokumbo Lateef Akintola, Directing Staff of Nigerian NDC. The delegation was accompanied by the Nigerian Deputy Defence Advisor in New Delhi, Colonel Sani Gambo Mohammed.    

On their arrival to AFHQ, they were received by AVM Gagan Bulathsinghala the Director Air Operations. Subsequently, a briefing was conducted by Group Captain Ravindra Liyanagamage, the Senior Staff Officer Air Operations on the history, capabilities, achievements and future challenges of the Sri Lanka Air Force. Thereafter, the delegation had the opportunity to meet the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, who made himself available for an interactive Q&A Session for the benefit of the senior ranking NDC students.

On conclusion, Commodore Akintola presented a symbolic memento to the Commander. The Commander reciprocated by presenting a memento to Commodore Akintola to mark this historic event as this was the first time a delegation from the Nigerian NDC paid a visit to the Sri Lanka Air Force.
