SLAF Unit Weerawila Celebrates
Its 34th Anniversary Along With the 4th Anniversary of No 112 UAV
Squadron
SLAF Weerawila celebrated its 34th anniversary on 01 June 2012 along with the 4th anniversary of the No 112 UAV Squadron situated at SLAF Weewrawila.
To Mark the anniversaries, a religious ceremony was conducted at “Sithul Pauwa Raja Maha Vihara” on 30th and 31st May 2012. A Buddhist Statue was also taken to “Situl Pauwa” from SLAF Weerawila in a perahera (procession) with the support of the local community.
Also on 1st June 2012 a parade was held consisting of all the formations in the Unit and subsequently a cricket match was played followed by an all ranks lunch.
