The closing address of No.147 and 149 Airmen intake 02/2011, Engine Fitter Basic Course was held on 04 Oct 2012 at TTS Auditorium under the patronage of Commanding Officer Group Captain P Ranasinghe and Acting Officer Commanding Training Squadron Leader   WUS De Silva. Commanding Officer SPU SLAF Katunayaka Wing Commander R Ramalingam graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Engine Fitter basic course commenced on 13 Dec 2011 and terminated on 04 Oct 2012. A total of 15 airmen passed out as Engine Fitter Technicians and they underwent both theory and practical training during the course.
The Shield for the best Engine Fitter Technician of the course was awarded to 42764 Ac Saliya Kumara CMR for his exceptional performance.
