Junior Officers’ Refresher Course Successfully Conducted

Junior Officers’ Refresher Course 03/2013 was conducted successfully from 15th July to 26th July 2013 at SLAF Station Diyatalawa under the supervision of the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Diyatalawa Group Captain WWPD Fernando.
The course programme covered theoretical and practical aspects of Drill, Weapon Handling, Marksmanship and Range Orders, Map Reading, General Service Knowledge, Internal Security Operations, Mechanics of Ground Defence, and Troop Leading Procedure. Apart from the lectures conducted practical exercises were also included in the programme to refresh the Officers participating. The Land Navigation outdoor exercise conducted in the Diyatalawa area proved to be an interesting experience to the course participants bringing back memories of the initial training courses they underwent during their cadet career.
