A Delegation from the Indian NDC Visits Air Force Headquarters

A 18-member delegation of 54th course of the Indian National Defence College (NDC) comprising senior Officers of Tri-Services from India, Myanmar, Tunzania, Oman, Nigeria, Israel and France, who are currently on their Strategic Neighborhood Study Tour to Sri Lanka, visited the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters on 26th August 2014. The delegation was headed by AVM Vipin Indira Padmanabhan, the Senior Directing Staff of Indian NDC. The delegation was accompanied by the Indian Defence Attache in Sri Lanka Capt Prakash Gopalan.
   
On arrival to AFHQ, they were welcomed by Air Vice Marshal NHV Gunarathne, the Director Training of the Air Force. Subsequently, a presentation was conducted by Group Captain UP Rajapaksha, the Senior Staff Officer Air Operations on ‘Post Conflict Role and Challenges’ of the Sri Lanka Air Force. Thereafter, the delegation had the opportunity to meet the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala who made himself available for an interactive Q&A Session for the benefit of the senior ranking NDC students.

On conclusion, AVM Vipin Indira Padmanabhan presented a symbolic memento to the Chief of Staff. The Chief of Staff reciprocated by presenting a memento to AVM Vipin Indira Padmanabhan to mark the event. Director Ground Operations Air Vice Marshal K Yahampath, Director Aeronautical Engineering Air Vice Marshal PDJ Kumarasiri, Director Welfare Air Vice Marshal MLK Perera and Director Logistics Air Commodore DLS Dias were also present at the occasion.
