Annual Commander’s Inspection at the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke concluded his annual inspection schedule with his inspection of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo on 31 October 2014.

The Commander was received by the Commanding Officer SLAF Colombo Air Commodore MDAP Payoe at Air Force Station Colombo after being accorded a Street lining.

During the course of the inspection the Commander inspected the all areas of SLAF Station Colombo. The Commander awarded Commendation to two Master Warrant Officers, three Warrant Officers, nine SNCOs, nine JNCOs, and six Leading Aircraftmen for their meritorious contribution to their own Unit in particular and to the Air Force in general.    

Although the inspection of Air Force Headquarters had been scheduled for the 30 October 2014, the inspection was cancelled due to service reasons. Therefor The Commander addressed all ranks of Headquarters and SLAF Station Colombo at the Rifle Green ground. He acknowledged the hard work of the personnel which went into preparing for the inspection and the emphasized the need to contribute their best to the Air Force as well as to the nation at all times.   He stated that having inspected all stations of the SLAF he had observed that the Air Force is at a high standard overall, and that this was accepted and commended by all in the country.  He stated that while achieving high standards was difficult it was even more difficult to maintain those standards year around, and emphasized that it could be done only with honest and sincere hard work on the part of all personnel.  He stressed that equal importance needs to be given to the needs of the families as well, which he pointed out will also lead to better performance in the official capacities.
