A Delegation from the Indian Army Higher Command Course Visits Air Force Headquarters

A 20-member delegation from the Indian Army Higher Command Course who are currently on a Study Tour to Sri Lanka, paid a visit to the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters on 10 November 2014. The delegation was headed by Brigadier JS Sandhu, Directing Staff of Indian Higher Command Course. The delegation was accompanied by the Indian Defence Attache  in Sri Lanka Captain Prakash Gopalan.  

On their arrival to AFHQ, they were received by Air Vice Marshal NHV Gunaratne, the Director Training of the Air Force. Subsequently, a presentation was conducted by Wing Commander SS Gamage, the Staff Officer Air Operations – I, on ‘Post conflict role and challenges’ of the Sri Lanka Air Force. Thereafter, the delegation had the opportunity to meet the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Vice Marshal, GP Bulathsinghala who made himself available for an interactive Q&A session for the benefit of the senior ranking Indian Army Higher Command students.

On conclusion, Brigadier JS Sandhu presented a memento to the Chief of Staff. The Chief of Staff reciprocated by presenting a memento to Brigadier JS Sandhu to mark the event. Director Air Operations Air Vice Marshal KVB Jayampathy, Director Ground Operations Air Vice Marshal K Yahampath, Director Aeronautical Engineering Air Vice Marshal LHA Silva, Director General Engineering Air Commodore AH Wijesiri, Director Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Air Vice Marshal RJ Pathirage, Director Logistics Air Commodore DLS Dias and Director Health Services Air Commodore DMS Karunaratne were also present at the occasion.
