The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke declared open the newly constructed “Lake View Chalets” for Officers at the invitation of the Commanding Officer Gp Capt Dilshan Wasage on 27 Dec 2014. This facility is situated in a stunningly beautiful and serene location overlooking at Akkarawissa Lake at Sella Kataragama and affords three luxurious rooms with air-conditioning, attached bathrooms with hot water and common dining facility.  The occasion was also graced by Mrs. Roshani Gunathilake, the Chairperson SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit.

These chalets are expected to provide accommodation for Officers in the rank of Sqn Ldr and below when visiting Katharagama and Sellakatharagama. Further, the location of the Chalets is very convenient while visiting Yala National Park and Kirinda.

The Lake View Chalets were constructed under the guidance of Director Civil Engineering AVM CR Gurusinghe by Civi Engineering Wing as an addition to the existing Senior Officer’s Holiday Chalets.

Further,the newly constructed Corporal’s Club at SLAF Station Weerawila was also opened by the Commander on the same day.
