Passing Out Ceremony of Officer Cadets' Basic Combat Phase at CTS Diyathalawa
3:05pm on Tuesday 6th January 2015
No. 57 Intake Officer Cadets’ and No.32 KDU Intake Officer Cadets’ Intensive course comprising 20 Officer Cadets and 8 Officer Cadets respectively completed their Basic Ground Combat Phase and the Intensive Phase on 29 December 2014 at Combat Training School, Diyatalawa.  The courses were conducted by the Training Wing of the School under the direction of Air Cdre. DJC Weerakoon, the Commanding Officer of the Combat Training School, Diyatalawa and Wg. Cdr. GPNC Piyasena, the Officer Commanding Training.

The Basic Combat Phase extended up to 16 weeks while the Intensive Course was structured within a period of 12 weeks. To achieve the aim of the courses they included training on Drill, Weapon Training , Field Craft, Tactics, Fire Fighting, Air Force Administration, First Aid , Officer General Responsibilities and a wide range of Out Door exercises such as jungle exercises etc.

The cadets leave the school transformed by their training into alert, efficient and disciplined Officer Cadets ready to follow their Advanced Training.
