The Newly constructed Transmission building at repeater station Karagahatenna was declared opened by the Air Vice Marshal RJ Pathirage (Director Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering) on 27 March 2015.

The Karagahatenna repeater station is one of the main backbones of the SLAF Telecommunication, Data and Ground radio networks.

Construction has been done by the SLAF Stn Sigiriya under the supervision of Directorate of Civil Engineering.
