Airmen Continue the Winning Habit In Volley Ball

SLAF Volleyball Division II team emerged Champs in Munchee Division II National Championship 2010 yesterday (28 February 2010) which is the next best tournament, after the National Super League Tournament.

Sri Lanka Army competed with the SLAF under lights at the Seeduwa ‘Davi Samara School grounds’. After a thrilling encounter the SLAF defeated Army by 17-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-14 & 15-13. Ironically SLAF last won this Tournament in 2005.

Leading Aircraftman Mahesh kumara was adjudged as the best Attacker while Sergeant Udaya Kumara became the best setter of the volleyball ball in this tournament.



Meanwhile, today (01 march 2010) the SLAF Division I team continued their winning streak by defeating the strong Sri Lanka Ports Authority team by 25-23, 25-18, 18-25 & 25-22  in the National Super League Tournament 2010 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium. The SLAF still remains the only unbeaten team in the tourney    
 
With this win the SLAF goes through to the finals with one match to spare the Super Six stage with the Sri Lanka Navy tomorrow.
