ARFRO, RAFOA members call on the Commander

Representatives of the Association of Flag Ranks Officers (ARFRO) and the Retired Air Force Officers Association made courtesy calls on the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala recently.
The Association of Retired Flag Rank Officers (ARFRO) in Sri Lanka came into being in 1996 as a result of an invitation from the World wide Consultative Association of Retired Generals and Admirals (WACARGA) to participate in their activities.  Senior Officers from some 40 countries have joined this association which meets occasionally to discuss matters of professional interest.

A delegation comprising the Associations Serving President R Adm HS Ratnakeerthi VSV USP, Vice President AVMA B Sosa VSV, AVM  O D N L  Perera RWP USP (Asst Secretary), Maj Gen (Dr) K D P Perera USP and Maj Gen  E P de Z  Abeysekara USP visited the Commander on  30 September and had a cordial discussion with the Commander on present and proposed interactions between the organization and the Air Force.
 
The Retired Air Force Officers Association (RAFOA) was established under is continued under the patronage of the Commander of the Air Force to provide a collective identity to retired Air Force officers and to foster continued fellowship between them and serving officers. RAFOA promotes social activities for retired officers and their spouses and provides a centre with club facilities for its members.

Present President of the Association Wing Commander Chanaka Fernando, and Secretary Wing Commander Nalin Jayatilleka  of the RAFOA visited the Commander on 28th September and had discussions with the Commander on matters of mutual interest and also on future measures to foster even better interaction between the Association and the SLAF.

Both delegations presented the Commander with mementos to mark the visits.
