Rotherham Circuit Meet 2016

Rotherham Circuit Meet 2016 concluded successfully at the Sri Lanka Air Force Unit Katukurunda on today -20 March 2016. The motor car and bike racing competition worked off at the Katukurunda Airstrip with full of thrills and spills, excitement and great sportsmanship. This racing event is now renowned as one of the best motor racing venue.  A massive crowd witnessed the event that showcased some fantastic driving skills on the tarmac track.

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala, Chief of Staff of SLAF Air Vice Marshal CR Gurusinghe, Director Administration and Chairman of the SLAF motor racing Air Vice Marshal CP Welikala, Members of the Air Force Board of Management, Officers,  airmen and airwomen with their families attended the event.

 All proceeds of the event will be directed towards the worthy cause of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit welfare projects.  Telcey Services pvt(Ltd) and Bank of Ceylon came forward as the main sponsor of the Rotherham Circuit Meet 2016, while CEAT brought on its support as the principle sponsor.  Stafford Motors, Raja Jewellers, Peoples Bank and Brantel Lanka were on board as co-sponsors of the event, helping bring an exciting racing event for the motor racing enthusiasts.

The Electronic Media (TV) partner Rupavahini Corporation, Electronic media sponsor (Radio) ABC Networks and the Media (Print) sponsor ANCL as well as the other media organizations participated actively in the event.

Pramuka Sesath became the Best Rider whilst Ushan Peiris was awarded the trophy for the Best Driver at the Rotherham Circuit Meet - 2016.
