SLAF Medical Teams Assist flood victims at Ayagama

A medical campaign was held successfully on 20 June 2017 in two locations in Ayagama area (Madagalthura Shailauththarama Temple,Sri Mahindarama temple at Ayagama tea estate) in order to support the flood and landslide affected population in Ayagama and its locality.

The overall coordination of the event was done by Directorate of Health Services of SLAF. The campaign offered OPD treatment,specialists’consultation facility(Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Dermatology, obstetrics and Gynaecology), minor surgical procedures, basic laboratory investigation facilityand Psychological counselling. Also the established pharmacies at both locations were able to provide almost all prescribed drugs for patients.
More than 35 Medical Staff, including five leading consultants from Colombo participated in the event and were able to treat large number of patients (more than 1000) in the area. The programme was conducted with the coordination of   health officers of Ayagama area.

Director Health Services of SLAF Air Cdre Lalith Jayaweera CO SLAF Hospital Guwanpura Wing Commander Vasantha Padmaperuma ,CO SLAF Hospital Ratmalana Wing Commander Sujeewa Alwis, SLAF doctors and medical staff attended the programme.
