A Delegation from Royal Air Force Visits AFHQ

A delegation from the Royal Air Force (RAF), Force Protection (FP) Regiment  visited Sri Lanka from the 10th to the 13th of July 2017, in order to present a proposed three year road map for future cooperation and exchanges between the RAF and SLAF.

The delegation consisted of the following officers:-
a. Air Commodore Frank Clifford - Force Commander  Royal Air Force,Honington
b. Wing Commander Edward Cripps -  Officer Commanding Force Protection Centre Royal Air Force, Honington
  
During their stay in Sri Lanka, the delegation visited Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay and Sri Lanka Air Force Station Morawewa to witness the ‘Air Base Ground Defence and Critical Infrastructure Protection demonstration and ‘Special Operations to secure the ‘Ground defence Area’ in enhancing Air Base Ground Defence’ demonstration respectively on 11 Jul 17 to 12 Jul 17.

   
On the final day of the visit on 13 July 17 the delegation visited AFHQ along with the Acting High Commissioner for UK in Sri Lanka for a discussion with SLAF counterparts about the three year road map for future cooperation and exchanges between the RAF and SLAF.  Participating in the discussion with the visiting delegates were AVM AM De Zoysa - Deputy Chief of Staff /Director Training, Air Cdre AWTI De Silva -Command Provost Marshal, Air Cdre MDJ Wasage - Deputy Director Air Intelligence, Air Cdre VP Balasooriya - Command Provost Marshal (under study), Gp Capt SC Wijenayake, Representing the Director Ground Operations, Gp Capt RADTM Weerarathne , Representing the Director Air Operations and Wg Cdr AN Wijesiriwardane, Representing the Director Ground Operations.
