Catering Assistants and Ground Stewards Complete Advanced Training at Hospitality Management School, SLAF Station, Sigiariya

Under the direction of the Director of Logistics of SLAF, Air Vice Marshal HMSKB Kotakadeniya and under the supervision of the Commanding Officer SLAF Station Sigiriya, Wing Commander Chinthaka Alwis, the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of Catering Assistants and Ground Stewards Advanced Course (01/2018) was held at the Hospitality Management School, Sri Lanka Air Force Station, Sigiriya on the 28th of August 2018.
 
This event is traditionally held on completion of every course with the presence of all trainees, Officers, Other Rank Instructors and the personnel serving therein, in recognition of training achievements.

The participants completed six months of advanced training where they were focused on Responsibilities and Duties of Catering Assistants and Ground Stewards, Catering Procedure and Administration, Admin & Non Public Accounts knowledge, Hygiene, Simple Cookery, Kitchen Management, English Knowledge, Computer Application and Project Preparations.

Procurement Department Officer (Tender), Procurement Division of the Sri Lanka Air Force, Group Captain Dammika Samarakoon graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Commanding Officer of the Station Wing Commander Chinthaka Alwis, the Chief Instructor Hospitality Management School Flight Lieutenant Dulantha Cooray, All Officers and Other Ranks of the Station were also present.

A total of 7 Ground Stewards and 24 Catering Assistants were awarded the certificates at the occasion.

The trophy for the Best Student of the Catering Assistants Advanced Course was awarded to Leading Aircraftman Fernando WKHS and the trophy for the Best Student of the Ground Stewards Advanced Course was awarded to Leading Aircraftman Aravinda PMSC.
