Digital Safety and Recovery Childhood with the Rhythm Star Programme
In the present day context, many people turn to the internet to make friends, develop romance, or maintain other social connections. However, the more time we spend online, the more depressed we become. Why is this? The answer has to do with something called ‘Limbic Resonance,’ the idea that our capacity for sharing deep emotional states rising from the limbic system of the brain and that online interactions do not stimulate the limbic system as much as do actual physical interactions and that this in the long terms leads to depression and anxiety.  leads to a  This addiction can be prevented by educating children and parents.

With the intention of educating children and parents about how to prevent addiction to digital social interactions, and under the guidance Commanding Officer SLAF Station Colombo, Air Commodore  GGWTK Gunawardana, a programme entitled ‘Digital Safety and Recovery Childhood with the Rhythm Star’ was conducted yesterday (2 January 2019) at the Guwanpura General Service Quarters area for all children and parents. The event was conducted by Dr. Lalith Mendis (FRCP) and his crew at the Empathic Learning Centre. The programme was successfully completed with the participation of large number of children and parents.
