Airfield and Base Defence Proficiency Course for BAF Personnel Commence at Diyatalawa
4:10pm on Friday 25th January 2019
A team of Bangladeshi Air Force personnel consisting of a Squadron Leader, a Flight Lieutenant, two Flying Officers and six JNCOs reported to the SLAF Combat Training School on 21 Jan 19 and commenced their Airfield and Base Defence Proficiency Course yesterday (24 Jan 19). The Course will be conducted from 22 Jan to 30 Mar 19.

The Course content aims:
to enhance the service knowledge of Bangladesh AF personnel,

to acclimatize the BAF personal on regimental duties,
 
to train them on the planning and employment of Air Base Defence,

to familiarize the participants on AF weapons and tactics,

to expose them to terror and guerrilla tactics and methods of countering

The course is also expected to emphasize the necessity of physical fitness,  address handling Internal Security Operations cum intelligence, improve the individual munitions proficiency, as well as improve  leadership qualities.

As at present, this School has conducted 6 Airfield and Base Defence Proficiency Courses from 2013.

The Opening address was conducted by the Commanding Officer, Air Commodore WWPD Fernando and the event was witnessed by Officer Commanding Training, Wing Commander WHMBS Bandara, Chief Instructor Officer Training and the training staff of the School.
