Air Tattoo 2019 Concludes Amidst Enormous Crowds at Hingurakgoda

The Sri Lanka Air Force 68th Anniversary Air Tattoo 2019, the air show and the educational exhibition which was declared open by His Excellency the President, Maithripala Sirisena on the 2nd March, concluded yesterday amidst an enormous gathering last night.

The general public in their thousands gathered to witness the final day of Air Tattoo 2019, the Sri Lanka Air Force’s 68th Anniversary Air Show and Educational Exhibition at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda yesterday.

On its first day after its ceremonial opening by His Excellency the President, children as well as adults in large numbers were seen thoroughly enjoying themselves. On the First day the musical extravaganza featured “Seeduwe Sakura” live in Action.  The second day drew even larger crowds witnessing the exhibition with the SLAF’s own band ‘Eagles’ entertaining the crowds during the Musical Extravaganza complemented by the mesmerizing SLAF dancers. On the third day, “Purple Range” took the stage featuring also the SLAF Dancers and Ranaviru Real Star artists from SL Army, Navy and Air Force.

"Air Tattoo 2019" concluded on the fifth and final day of exhibition saw the  crowd exceeding the 100,000 mark.  A grand musical extravaganza starring “Flash Back” live in action and Ranaviru Real Star performers for SL Army, Navy and Air Force marked the end of the 68th Sri Lanka Air Force Day Air Show and Educational Exhibition at SLAF Station Hingurakgoda.

The Chairman of the Air Tattoo 2019 Organizing Committee and the Director of Air Operations, Air Vice Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, the Director General Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Andrew Wijesuriya, the Base Commander of SLAF Base Hingurakgoda were present to witness the unbelievably large gathering which joined the SLAF in sharing and experiencing the might and pride of Military aviation in Sri Lanka.
