Super Wheelers Cyclist, Dharshana Prasad Wins 2nd Leg of Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya 2020

The second day of the 21th Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya which commenced in front of the Asiri Hospital in Kandy concluded in the city of Trincomalee yesterday evening (06 March 2020) having covered a mammoth total distance of 215 km.

The cyclist from the Super Wheelers Club, Dharshana Prasad won the 2nd leg of this year’s Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya while Chamika Sandun Kumara also from the Super Wheelers Club and Awishka Madonsa from the SL Army finished in second and third respectively.

The third and final leg of the race will commence today morning (07 March 2020) at approximately 0830 hrs from the Trincomalee Town. The third leg is expected to cover a total distance of 154Km and will finish in the historical city of Anuradhapura.

The Women's Edition of the 21th Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya will also commence today (07 March 2020) from Puttlam and finish in Anuradhapura covering a distance of approximately 110 km. The women’s race will pass through Anamaduwa, Nawagaththegama, Thambuththegama.

The awards ceremony will be held today (07 March 2020) evening at the Anuradhapura Public Grounds. The awards ceremony is scheduled to be telecasted live on Channel Eye as well. A musical extravaganza featuring the Air Force Eagles musical group will be held soon after the awards ceremony.
