100 Civilians Quarantined at the SLAF Quarantine Centre at Palaly Leave for Homes

100 civilians who came from the Lebanon, Brazil and Japan and were quarantined at the SLAF Quarantine Centre at Palaly completed the required period on 11 July 2020 and were sent home to their families. The Quarantine Centre at Palaly was established on the instructions of the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias in order to support the government’s effort of controlling the COVID-19 outbreak in Sri Lanka.

The 100 civilians who were released today were made up of 32 males and 68 females and they had completed 14 days at the Centre from 26 June 2020. On the instructions of the Commander, these civilians were provided with all required necessities to make their stay as comfortable as possible.

These civilians have been instructed to further self-quarantine themselves at home for a period of 14 days. The operation and management of the SLAF Quarantine Centre at Palaly was done under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Palaly, Group Captain Asela Jayasekara and the staff of the Station.
