A fire erupted within a construction site in close proximity to SLAF Station Weerawila. A fire vehicle was dispatched immediately in order to bring the fire under control.

A 16 man Disaster Assistance and Response Team, a fire engine along with an Officer and 6 Fire Fighters from SLAF Station Weerawila under the instructions of the Commanding Officer of the Station, Group Captain Thushara Sirimanna were able to bring the fire under control.
