SLAF CONDUCTS SEARCH AND RESCUE TRAINING FOR FOREIGN PERSONNEL

The Regiment Special Forces Training School at SLAF Station Morawewa conducted both the No.02 Search and Rescue Course for sixteen (16) RSF personnel and the and No 01 Search and Rescue Course four (04) foreign trainees from Pakistan and Maldives from 27 October 2021 to 26 November 2021.

Search and Rescue Courses for foreigners and RSF personnel has been designed to achieve professionalism with respect to Search and Rescue, Human Assistance and Disaster Relief, Sea Rescue, Terrain Rescue, High Altitude Training, Rappelling Tower Training, STABO, SPIE, Helicopter rappelling and Winch Operation Training and to enhance mutual knowledge on these aspects with Armed Forces of friendly foreign nations. Covered subject were Search and Rescue Procedures. Working with Ropes, Working with Helicopters, High Altitude Navigations, Combat First Aides, Water Rescue Methods, High Altitude Marches and Life Serving Techniques. The training was conducted according to the health guidelines for the prevention of COVID- 19.

The Closing Ceremony and Certificate Awarding of the courses were conducted on 26 November 2021 under the patronage of the Commanding Officer of the Regiment Special Forces, Wing Commander Priyadarshana Hettiarachchi at SLAF Station Morawewa
