Well Woman Clinic Held At SLAF Base Ratmalana Today

Under the Carlton “Suwa Udana” Health and Social Welfare programme the “Well Woman Clinic” was held at Sri Lanka Air Force Base Rathmalana today (29th April 2011). in the presence of First lady of Sri Lanka Mrs Shiranthi Rajapaksha and the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs Neelika Abeywickrema.


This Programme, initiated as a concept of the first Lady Shirathi Rajapakse is aimed at enhancing the health standards, the nourishment and life skills of needy people. The main objective of today’s clinic was to provide specialized consultation in order to uplift the gynaecological health standards in families of the Air force personnel.


This program offers a free and confidential health service for all women. The service is provided by experienced women's health nurses for women who don’t have symptoms but would like a women’s health checkup. The program was carried out by a team of doctors from the Air Force headed by Consultant VOG Hemantha Dodanpahala.


The Director Health service Air Vice Marshal NH Gunarathne, Air Commodore Sunil Karunaratne, Base Commander of SLAF Base Rathmalana Air Commodore Sumagala Dias and the executive committee of seva vanitha unit  were also present to mark the occasion.
