40th Indian Army Higher Command Course Visits SLAF HQ

Participants on the 40th Course of the Indian Army Higher Command Course arrived in Sri Lanka on 29th October 2011. The delegation, Headed by Senior Directing Staff (Air Force) Air Commodore PR Navalkar, comprised of 15 Army officers and 1 Air Force Officer. This is an annual visit and this year’s visit was coordinated by the Sri Lanka Army.

The touring Indian Army Higher Command Course together with the Senior DS visited the Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters today,  2 November 2011, as a part of their study programme. They were accompanied by the Indian Defence Attache and paid a courtesy Call on the Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Kolitha Goonatilake in his office.

Subsequently the delegation attended a briefing at the AFHQ Auditorium, conducted by Group Captain HSS Thuiyacontha, on the history, capabilities, achievements and future challenges of the Sir Lanka Air Force followed by an interactive Q&A session.

Thereafter, the Indian Army Higher Command Course Team was hosted to lunch at the Officers Mess of the Air Force Headquarters, Colombo.
