The SLAF Academy Hospital, a lodger formation since 14 Mar 2011, is in the process of development while providing preventive and curative care for all serving personnel and their families of the SLAF Academy China bay. Adding a spiritual aura, it was decided, a month go, to let the patients and medical staff feel the breeze of Lord Buddha’s teachings especially with a view to release their mind from the stress factor and fast recovering from the ailments.

Necessary funds were raised from a Tombola Nite and No.24 Regt Wing and the Works Squadron of this Academy rendered tremendous support to complete the task within a short period of one month.   

The newly constructed Buddhist shrine at the SLAF Academy hospital China bay was declared opened on 29 December 2011 giving prominence for the religious observances with the participation of the Chief Incumbent of the China Bay Raja Maha Viharaya. The event was also graced by a cross section of Officers and other ranks serving in the Academy.
