ACM Roshan Goonetileke Elected President of the SLRFU
Chief of Defence Staff & Commander of the Air Force, Air Chief Marshall Roshan Goonetileke was elected unanimously as the President of the Sri Lanka Rugby Football Union (SLRFU) yesterday during a Special General Meeting.

The former Petrite Scrum Half, changed positions to play as a hard tackling Flanker for the SLAF between 1978 and 1984, was well known as a player with guts, energy and fast reactions that stifled and baffled his opponents. A good reader of the game and an avid fan he has been instrumental in re-generating the Rugby spirit in the SLAF through practical and tactically effective administrative decisions as the present President of the SLAF Sports Council.

A firm beliver in "team work" and the value of "the team", having Commanded the SLAF effectivly and efficiently through the Humanitarian Campaign, he now takes on the mantle to guide  Sri lankan Rugby towards its rightful place not only in the region but the total international arena
