ABOUT THE AIR RADIO TECHNICIAN

Description 

Air Radio Trade is the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of Ground to Air and Ground to Ground Communication Systems and Audio Equipment. Air Radio Technicians ensure reliable voice and data communication for flying Operations, Air Traffic control, Air defense, control functions. Preparing the Research and development projects. Thereby contributing directly to the safety, efficiency and operational readiness of Sri Lanka Air Force.

Duties and responsibilities

Air Radio Technicians are responsible for the Fabrication, installation, Operation repair and maintenance of Avionics, Navigation, Ground Communication Equipment’s, Radar Systems (Field maintenance and workshop level repair) and Audio Visual Equipment’s of Sri Lanka Air Force

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Nationality Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka
Age Not less than 18 years and not more than 22 years as at 01 August 2026.
Civil Status Unmarried
Height Male: 162 cm
Weight / BMI Male: 17 < BMI < 26
Chest (Male) 32 Inches
Color Vision CP2
Visual Acuity 6/6 each eye (without spectacles and lenses)
GCE O/L REQUIREMENTS
Passes in 06 subjects at the GCE (O/L) Examination in not more than two sittings including Simple (S) for passes in Sinhala / Tamil, English language with a credit (C) pass for Science and Mathematics subjects.
or
Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) exam or Cambridge International Ordinary Level exams Passes in 06 subjects in not more than two sittings including English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Furthermore, a grading having marks equivalent or higher than a credit pass in GCE O/L for Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics is mandatory.
