a. About D of CE Tradesmen.

Civil Engineering Tradesmen in the SLAF handle construction, maintenance and repair of buildings, infrastructure and utilities. D of CE Trades personnel ensure Base operational readiness civil engineering support.

b. Duties and Responsibilities.

Construction and maintenance of buildings, roads, airfields and drainage systems. Installation, repair and maintenance of electrical wiring and fittings
Installation and maintenance of water supply and sanitation systems.
Preparation of technical drawings and site plans for construction projects.
Operation and maintenance of construction plants and machinery.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and technical specifications.

c. Specialized Areas.

Building construction and structural works.
Electrical installations, power distribution
water supply, drainage and plumbing systems.
Architectural and structural drawings using CAD software.
Heavy plant operation: excavators, loaders, graders
Airfield pavement maintenance.

Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) exam and Cambridge International Ordinary Level exams: Passes in 06 subjects in not more than two sittings.

Possession of an NVQ Level III qualification or above, or a recognized technical college certificate equivalent to NVQ Level III and work experience in relevant fields is an added advantage.
