Description
The Aero Engine Technician is a specialized aeronautical tradesman responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair and performance assurance of aircraft engines and associated systems. This includes gas turbine engines, piston engines (where applicable), engine accessories and supporting systems. The trade is critical to ensuring engine reliability, flight safety, and mission readiness, as propulsion system performance directly affects aircraft operability. Aero Engine Technicians operate within flying squadrons maintenance units and specialized workshops, supporting both flight line operations under the supervision of supervision of Aeronautical Engineering officers.
