ABOUT THE OPERATOR MOTOR TRANSPORT

Description 

Operator Motor Transport (OMT) personnel are responsible for the safe, efficient and timely transportation of personnel, equipment, and supplies in support of Sri Lanka Air Force operations. They play a vital role in ensuring ground mobility while strictly adhering to the Motor Traffic Act, Air Force regulations, and operational safety standards. Their contribution is critical in sustaining logistics support and operational readiness across all SLAF establishments.

Duties and responsibilities

  1. Operating a wide range of light and heavy vehicles for transport of personnel and cargo.
  2. Adhering to assigned routes, schedules, and operational tasking requirements.
  3. Ensuring vehicle safety through routine checks, basic maintenance, and defect reporting.
  4. Maintaining discipline, road safety standards and compliance with military transport regulations.
  5. Recording vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, and movement logs accurately.

Nationality Must be a citizen of Sri Lanka
Age Not less than 18 years and not more than 28 years as at 01 August 2026.

Color Vision CP2
Visual Acuity 6/6 each eye (without spectacles and lenses)
GCE O/L REQUIREMENTS
Passes in 04 subjects at the GCE (O/L) Examination in not more than two sittings including a Simple (S) pass in Sinhala / Tamil language.
or
Pearson Edexcel International General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) exam and Cambridge International Ordinary Level exams: Passes in 04 subjects in not more than two sittings.
and
Candidates with NVQ level III qualification or above from a reputed institute
