Mrs. Charmini Pathirana, the beloved wife of Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana is the Chairperson of Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit and the Head of Advisory Board of Air Force Pre Schools. She hails from Galle and has served the Air Port Authority for 18 years as an Administrator and has sacrificed her flourishing career for a greater cause and has constantly been the pillar of strength for Air Marshal Pathirana throughout his arduous journey in the Air Force. They have been married for 28 years and are blessed with a daughter and a son.

Throughout her Air Force journey, Mrs. Pathirana has been an avid supporter of welfare of Air Force spouses and families. Her kind, compassionate and caring personality has served immensely to uplift the living standards of widows and as well as families in need of the Sri Lanka Air Force. Under her patronage the Seva Vanitha Unit has conducted numerous invaluable projects to help the underprivileged children who live in the rural parts of Sri Lanka. Her generosity has resulted in relief and consolation to many poverty-stricken people of this country. She has even pioneered many events to generate funds to enhance the projects conducted by the Seva Vanitha Unit.

Mrs. Pathirana has served the Sri Lanka Air Force as the President of Seva Vanitha in 3 main Air Force Bases, prior to being appointed as the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit. She has always had the enthusiasm to gain the experience she needs to guide this women’s welfare association while traveling around the world with Air Marshal Pathirana on his official commitments and has used them efficiently to improve the quality and productivity of the Seva Vanitha movement. She looks forward to serving the families of all Air Force personnel and the civilians with utmost dedication and unfailing commitment.
