The Aeronautical Research and Development (AR&D) Wing at SLAF Station Katukurunda proudly celebrated its 3rd anniversary yesterday (30 April 2024). Being the pioneers of aeronautical research in the Sri Lanka Air Force, the AR&D Wing has rendered its service to the SLAF through aeronautical and avionics related Research & Development projects. As an institute that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing between researchers from different backgrounds and disciplines, it provides innovative solutions to some of the demanding issues faced by the organisation.

The customary Working Parade was conducted to commemorate the anniversary day with the participation of Officers and airmen/airwomen of the Wing and was reviewed by the present Commanding Officer, Group Captain PNJ De Silva. A project on community service responsibility was also conducted at Amarasekara Primary School, Ethagama.

With the partaking of the Commanding Officer, officers and airmen, a religious programme was conducted at the Wing premises to mark the anniversary. Further, a cricket tournament to boost the morale and comradeship of the members was also conducted.
