OPENING ADDRESS OF NO 76 JUNIOR COMMAND & STAFF COURSE

The 76th Junior Command and Staff Course officially commenced on 29 April 2024 at the Junior Command and Staff College, SLAF Academy, China Bay. The course was inaugurated with an opening address by the Commanding Officer Group Captain VRS Vidanapathirana RSP and Bar, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), BSc (Def Stu), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), psc, alongside key speeches from other distinguished faculty members including the Chief Instructor, Senior Instructor and Directing Staff. The 76th Junior Command and Staff Course comprises of 26 Officers from the Sri Lanka Air Force, predominantly in the ranks of Squadron Leader and Flight Lieutenant. Additionally, the course includes one Officer from the Sri Lanka Navy holding the rank of Lieutenant. These student Officers will engage in an intensive 14 weeks academic training program designed to enhance their skills essential for military leadership. The curriculum began with an introductory module on Public Speaking aimed at equipping the Officers with essential communication skills required for effective leadership.
