Sri Lanka Air Force provides free accommodation to all its uniformed staff irrespective of their rank or profession. Trainees go through in-house training where accommodation is a basic requirement. With the completion of training, bachelors are provided with bachelors' quarters through their respective mess facilities. Married quarters are provided at most of the stations except in few operational stations, where alternative arrangements are been made. However this facility is provided on the basis of availability. If the facilities are inadequate, a rent allowance is paid instead.
