The Air Force Health Service provides the medical support necessary to maintain the highest degree of human combat readiness and effectiveness in the Air Force. Each Base/ Unit is provided with medical staff and other resources for this purpose. All serving personnel of the Air Force and their families are entitled for free medical attendance at the institutions of the Air Force.

There are two fully equipped hospitals located within the Air Force Base Katunayake and Air Force Base Ratmalana. Arrangements have also been made to obtain the services of specialist medical officers from the National Health Service for those who need special medical attention.
