Air Radio

• Ground based navigational equipment (such as VOR, NDB,ADDF etc)
• Terminal Navigational equipment (PAR , ILS etc)
• Airborne Communication and Navigational equipment
• Airborne Radar Systems
• Airborne Anti-missile systems.
• 2D/3D surveillance Radar /Air Defence Radar systems.
• Optical Electronics (Opstronics) Equipments.
• Electronics Warfare (EW) equipments.

In addition, these technicians are capable of fabricating and installing of wire harness for avionics systems, installing, maintaining and repairing of Communication / Navigational equipments of different origins of fixed wing, rotary wing aircraft Unmanned Aerial vehicles (UAVs) Also the ability of installing, maintaining and repairing of audio visual equipment, Office electronics equipment and Electronic Intruder Detection systems including CCTV camera systems.

Furthermore, most of the technicians have trained in both local and foreign organizations for modern electronics technologies. Also they have vast knowledge in measurement engineering that includes all the contemporary test and measuring equipment related to Electronics Engineering. Since, majority of these personnel perform their duties as senior supervisors at the Electronics workshops at the letter stages of their careers, they have experience in Human Resource Management, Technical Documentation and General Administration.



Telephone Operator

Proficient in operating modern Digital PABXs with different kind of Operator Consoles. The capacity of these exchanges exceeds 250 extensions and connected number of PSTN lines with IDD facility. Also, has the experience in operating manual exchanges too. Further they are familiar with automated telephone billing procedures.

Most of these senior tradesmen possess vast expenence In Human Resource Management concepts.



Telegraph Technician

Well trained tradesmen who possess a thorough knowledge and wide experience in installing, maintaining and repairing of Telecommunication related equipment such as Ericsson ASB 100, ASB 900, MD 110/20, MD 110/50 and Consono Digital PABXs. Further, they have gained experience on Microwave Communication Links (ranging from A WA, DMC, Stratex), Multiplexers and Multi Access Radio Relay Links for voice and data communication.

In addition to these-they are proficient in maintaining underground and over head cable networks, installing, maintaining and repairing of various types of telephone instruments and the Intercom systems (Mini Exchanges).

Furthermore, they have a vast knowledge in measurement engineering that includes all the contemporary test and measuring equipment related to Telecommunication Engineering. Since, majority of these personnel perform their duties as senior supervisors at the sections, they have experience in Human Resource Management, Technical Documentation and General Administration.



Air Communicator
   
Possess a thorough knowledge and wide experience in Organization, Administration and Management of Communication Centres in Sri Lanka Air Force. These tradesmen are familiar with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Communication Procedures. Also has gained experience in Wireless Telegraphy, Radiotelephony, Teleprinting, use of Communication equipment both in secure and non secure modes, Fax Machines, Telex Machines and Window based computerized message terminals

In addition, doing such duties in the Communication Centres / Electronics Sections in Sri Lanka Air Force, they have a vast knowledge in Human Resource Management too.
