All members of the Air Force are provided with Sports and Recreational facilities as the Air Force highly encourages the maintaining of high physical standards and team work.   
    
The Air Force Sports Council, headed by the Commander of the Air Force, provides guidance and assistance to the sportsmen/ sportswomen participating in various sports activities at SLAF Unit, National and International levels.


Several SLAF members have represented Sri Lanka at international sports events such as World Military Games (Italy) SAF Games (Pakistan), Asian Kabbadi Championship (Malaysia ).

The SLAF has won several awards at various National Sports Tournaments such as Military Parachuting Championship (Algeria ), etc,.
    
Recreational facilities available for Air Force personnel include fully equipped Gymnasiums, Swimming Pools, Tennis Courts, Badminton Courts, Squash Courts etc.
