INTER UNIT TUG OF WAR CHAMPIONSHIP 2025
The Inter Unit Tug of War Championship 2025 was held on 13 and 14 August 2025, at SLAF Base Katunayake. The awarding ceremony took place at the Hospital Sports Ground in Katunayake yesterday (14 August 2025) with the gracious presence of Director General Electronics & Computer Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Asitha Hettiarachchi, as the Chief Guest.
The Men’s title was claimed by 26 Regiment Wing of SLAF Base Katunayake, while the Women’s title was won by SLAF Base Katunayake. Despite this, SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura and SLAF Base Anuradhapura gained runners-up in the Men’s and Women’s categories, respectively.
The Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekera, Deputy Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Dushan Wijesinghe, Chairman SLAF Tug of War, Group Captain Chaminda Herath, Members of the Air Force Sports Council, senior officers, officers and other ranks also participated to witness the finals and award ceremony.
