The First leg of the 27th Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya ended at Puttalam today (27 February 2026) having covered a distance of 127.5 km. UAE Cyclist, Mohommad Alharbi won the 1st leg of the race while De Silva LSC and Fernando MNN both from SLAF finished as second and third places respectively.

The Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya 2026, the 27th edition of the race, was flagged off this morning (27 February 2026) in Negombo by the Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Bandu Edirisinghe

Air Vice Marshal Prasanka Martino was appointed as the Director General General Engineering in the Sri Lanka Air Force, effective from today (26 February 2026).
