The personnel of Sri Lanka Air Force Detachment Mamaduwa under the direction of the Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama commenced a community development programme to assist farmers in the area to retain a greater amount of water in tanks for use during the cultivation season. The SLAF personnel are assisting the farmers to remove silt that has caused the tanks to dry up rapidly using heavy machinery and other resources.
