The closing address ceremony of Dog Handler Basic Trade Training Course was held on 14th June 2013 at SLAF TTS Auditorium under the patronage of the Commanding Officer Group Captain P Ranasinghe and the Officer Commanding Training, Wing Commander CJ Hettiarachchi. Group Captain DJC Weerakoon graced the occasion as the Chief Guest .

The Basic Dog Handler Trade Training Course commenced on 26 February 2013 and was completed on 14 June 2013. A total of 13 Airmen passed out as competent Dog Handlers and they underwent both theoretical and practical training during the course.

The Shield for the best trainee of the Dog Handler Basic Course was awarded to XP34076 APM (Sri Lanka Navy)  Rajapaksha DPP for his exceptional performance.
