The First ever Air Force Open Badminton Championship  2015 participation of 300 participants and successfully concluded yesterday evening (14th June 2015 ) at the Sri Lanka Air Force Health management  Centre, Thummulla.

The tournament, held from  10th June 2015, saw the participation of 300 players, carried cash awards amounting to a total of Rs.400,000.
 
 Niluka karunaratne and Achini Rathnasiri  won the Men’s and Women’s Open Championships respectively.
 
The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Chairperson of the SLAF Seva  Vanitha Unit Mrs. Roshani  Gunatilleke, The Chief of Staff of the Air Force Air Vice Marshal Gagan  Bulathsinghala, members from the Air Force Board of Management, the Chairman SLAF Badminton, Group Captain R Senanayaka, Commanding Officer  SLAF Station Colombo Air Commodore Prasanna Payoe, and Senior Officers of the SLAF also attended.
