SLAF Continues Flood Relief Operations on 20 May 2016

Sri Lanka Air Force continued rescue operations and providing of relief aid to victims of flash floods in Kelaniya, Biyagama areas by airlifting consignments of dry rations using Bell 212 and Bell 412 helicopters.

Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala flew a Bell 412 with the SLAF rescue crew to the affected areas on a relief mission. Also Commander visited Kettharama Flood Relief Unit to observe the on-going relief activities.

Further, the SLAF Flood Relief Centre at the SLAF Station Colombo Rifle Green Ground is receiving large quantities of relief items from all generous donors.

SLAF arranged Bell 212 (7 missions), Bell 412 (2 missions) and Mi 17 (1 mission) Helicopters to dispatch all goods immediately to the flood relief centres and also directly to those in needy.
