Second Group of the 1st SLAF Aviation Contingent Returns from UNMISS

The second Group of the first Contingent of Air Force Aviation Unit under the United Nations helicopter deployment in the South Sudan (UNMISS) commanded by Wing Commander Vishwa Samantha  arrived in Sri Lanka early hours today (21June 16).

This team comprising 49 SLAF personnel and they completed 12 month tenure UNMISS.

 They were replaced by the second team of the second contingent who left Sri Lanka yesterday. 

Base Commander SLAF Base Katunayake Air Commodore Sagara Kotakadeniya, Deputy Director Aeronautical Engineering Air Commodore Andrew Wijesuriya, Staff Officer Ground Operations I Air Commodore Nishen Abeysinghe, Officers and family members of the arriving personnel were present at the Arrival lounge.
