Sri Lanka Air Force Weightlifters who represented Sri Lanka as part of the National Team at the Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship - 2017 returned to the Island morning hours on 10 September 2017  to a rousing welcome at the Bandaranayake International Airport, Katunayake. The Championship was held from 03rd to 09th September 2017  in Gold Coast, Australia.

SLAF Woman Weightlifter, Leading Aircraft Woman (LAC) Gomes BDH  won a Bronze Medal in 48Kg weight class of her category at the Championship.
